The Heritage Book Collection is the library’s collection of books focusing on local history and genealogy.

State histories - including Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, and more!
Local histories - including all Alabama counties and some cities, like Huntsville.
Business histories - including local shops and services.
Cemetery histories - including transcriptions and narratives.

Church histories - including narratives and some record transcriptions.
Military histories - including information about local soldiers.
Lineage Society volume sets - including Daughters of the American Revolution and more.

You can find these and more in the library catalog. Please note that Heritage Collection books are NOT for loan.
We have elementary, middle, high school, and college yearbooks. The high school and college yearbooks are available in the Heritage Room, located on the wall under the clock. The elementary and middle school yearbooks are available on an as-requested basis (ask a staff member).
We periodically receive new yearbooks from donors. If you do not see the yearbook you are looking for, you may call and ask a staff member if a new yearbook has been recently donated (256.532.5969).
