The Arc provides complete life-cycle career development services to individuals with disabilities who wish to find integrated community employment. Career specialists provide counseling to individuals, identifying career goals, as well as any barriers to employment. A plan is then developed to support the individuals as they work to achieve their goals.

Training the workforce in Huntsville and Madison County, especially as we continue to see exponential growth in our community, is one of the library's priorities. We offer training in computer skills sought by local employers, free of charge. The workforce development lab is for those who need digital assistance to secure employment or job advancement.

The JOBS Program which is DHR’s welfare to work program is operational in all 67 Alabama counties. The program provides services and work support to parents receiving cash assistance to help them find and retain employment. These services and supports seek to address barriers such as lack of adequate child care, poor access to transportation, domestic violence and substance abuse, all which greatly limit the ability to obtain and retain employment.

Phoenix works with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services (ADRS) to provide comprehensive and continuous programs to assist people with disabilities entering, remaining, and returning to the work environment.
