Our Juvenile Graphics (JG) collection is located on the first floor of the Downtown Branch in the Youth Services area at the end of Juvenile Fiction near the Storytime Area. Books shelved here are filed by title with are reflected in the call number in the catalog, with non-fiction titles shelved by their Dewey Decimal Number or biographically by subject's last name followed by author's last name. We are always expanding our collection and add new books monthly! We gladly accept patron suggestions, if you see a title or series that we don't have please don't hesitate to put in a patron request. Found a graphic novel you're interested in and want to place a hold on it? Click on the title you'd like in this guide and it will take you to it's record in HMCPL's catalog. From there you should see a "Place Hold" option on the right hand side of the screen, click on that and you will be prompted to log in to your account if you aren't already. Once logged in you'll be able to review the book you're about to place on hold and choose a branch destination for you to pick it up at. Click the Place Hold button and you're done!
Keep in mind if you're looking for a specific volume in a series (Like Pokemon, Bone, Amulet, ect.) that the volume you're looking for may be in a record with multiple volumes. If you do not specific which one you'd like to put on hold, the system will pull the next available copy regardless of which one it might be. To place a spefic volume on hold, click on the title you'd like in this guide and it will take you to it's record in HMCPL's catalog where you should see a "Place Hold"option on the right hand side of the screen. From this screen click the "Show more options" box and click the "A specific item" box where you'll be able to select the specific volume you need!
