In this hilarious and heartwarming story, a goldfish gives his account of his day-to-day life through journal entries. First, he is happy swimming around his bowl, but each day more and more critters and decorations are added. The goldfish becomes annoyed, until one day when he is moved into an empty bowl and he realizes that he misses his friends. Everyone is eventually relocated to a larger tank and the friends live in harmony.

A boy is gifted a goldfish named Norman, but he is not too happy about it. He tells Norman that he won't be around long -- he'll either return him to the store or convince someone else to take him. But after spending quality time with Norman, the boy learns that there are lots of things that make this goldfish special.

Splotch was meant to be in his bowl when his boy got home from school--but he isn't there! There's only one conclusion: he must have run away. But when he mysteriously returns, all is well again.
