Memory Kits: Home

Memory kits are for people with dementia, memory loss, or cognitive impairment. They are intended to stimulate conversation or reminiscence with a person with cognitive issues

What is a Memory Kit?

A Memory Kit is a bag filled with items and activities centered around a place, time, or theme. The library has created kits focusing on the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. In each decade, you'll find talking points about popular music, movies & tv shows, books, and fads; newspaper headlines; and images. In other words, items that bring the decade to life!

Serving Citizens with Alzheimer's Disease

Memory Kits are aimed at helping family members and friends of individuals with dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Memory loss and confusion are hallmarks of these medical conditions. The Memory Kits are designed to help trigger memories and provide a bridge for caregivers and loved ones to communicate and connect.
