With over 6 million Americans living with Alzheimer's/dementia, and 50 million worldwide, it's likely you either know someone struggling with a mentally degenerative disease or caregiving for someone who is. Alzheimer's, Lewy body dementia, vascular dementia, frontotemporal disorders, mixed dementia ... these diseases have many names but the results are the same: loss of cognitive function, advancing behavioral issues, and, ultimately, death. This "long goodbye" often results in more questions than answers, but at the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library, we hope to provide information to help you on your journey, whether as a patient or a caregiver.
